The following spring I passsd the physical fitness test, Lung X ray, blood tests. They found no anomaly which would prevent my legal residency.
Then one fine May Sunday morning Alain set out for a morning jogging, telling me he would return with the Croissants. He didn't take the apt keys so I felt obliged to wait his return.and made no effort to leave.
By 1 pm I realized he wasn't coming back. I was beside myself. Yes, he could be injured, what should I do?
He had not left me the option to lunch in a bistro and then visit a museum by myself. I was stuck.
He returned towards 4 pm, he had been playing tennis with his ex wife and daughter. As far as I was concerned he could do as he liked while giving me the option of enjoying a fine spring sunny day in Paris. .I was furious, he had stolen that fine day which would never return.
I had been crying in an outraged frustration. He displayed an extraordinary egoistic insensitivity to the "other".
That terrible Sunday the blood must have been backing up into my nervous system as I cried. Upon his return I should have insisted he give me a deep tissue massage. Days thereafter I could have used the TENS to keep the energies and blood flowing. I believe I could have prevented the deficits which followed.
Lately Alain is reproaching me for being handicapped./ This outrages me given his role in the stresses I suffered living with him and being subjected to his family. I don't want to dwell on that too much, but I know now how to minimize the blood back jets. I don't believe one needs to undergo venoplasty to benefit from the CCSVI idea. A good deep tissue massage at the moment of stress can prevent the blood back jets as happened to me with my first MS attack (see Chapter One, Dr Pallis and the Shiatsu Massage.) .
